A Resort Marina On The Maryland Eastern Shore Chesapeake Bay

About Mears Point Marina     . . . history meets progress!

Mears Point Marina was purchased in 1981 as a 296 slip marina situated on approximately 65 acres of land. The original purchase included a boat showroom building, administration offices, and various buildings which included a restaurant and store, as well as a fuel dock.

The existing marina was dredged to increase the depth of water from 4.5 feet to  8 feet MLW. Over 500,000 cubic feet of uplands on the southern end of the property were excavated to expand the marina basin to allow for an additional 281 slips. Expansion also included complete renovation of existing facilities as well as additional parking, swimming pool, yacht club facility, bath house and laundry facilities.

In 1989 Red Eye’s Dock Bar was opened along the Kent Narrows and the fuel dock was expanded.  Red Eye’s has since become one the most favorite waterfront dock bars on the Chesapeake Bay serving cold drinks, casual food and providing top notch entertainment

In 1994 a tragic electrical fire completely destroyed the large showroom and boat repair building.  Within 18 months a new modern two story 50,000 sf office/bathhouse building and 15,000 sf of high ceiling  commercial bays were completed to replace the old facilities.

Mears Point continues with an on-going capital improvement program which consists of replacing the original piers and bulkheads, upgrading dockside electric, as well as building improvements to keep every aspect of the marina updated in its appearance and condition.

Our unending commitment to providing a high quality marina experience for our slip-holders and visitors continues.
